Learn More About Yvonne
Yvonne is a Murrieta woman who is happily married with two sons as well as two dogs. She holds a Bachelors degree with a double major in Political Science and Spanish with a minor in Secondary Education from Regis University as well as a Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Yvonne is a Fellow of the Advisory Board. She was raised in a military family with a great appreciation for duty, diversity and respect. Yvonne is a multifaceted person, ally and advocate for social justice and civic engagement.
As the mother of a recent graduate and current student of MVUSD she is personally invested in the educational experience of our Murrieta youth. In recent years too much focus and attention has been directed toward political agendas and culture wars. Yvonne wants to put the focus squarely on the experience of students and educators. Preparing our youth for future success in their careers, personal lives and as good citizens of our community is a monumental undertaking that demands our attention free from polarizing distraction.
The School Board of the Murrieta Valley Unified School District plays a critical role in decisions which frame the educational journey of our students. They make decisions about budgets/funding, Textbook adoption, enrichment and development programs and set policies related to all aspects of student life and educator experience. Our school should be getting attention for demonstration of academic and athletic excellence not for propagation of extremist ideologies which do little to improve student performance and achievement.
